Jane East, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Colne Valley, was also present and conquered the boulder at the opening event.  Jane commented, “I want to say a massive well done and thank you to all involved with this project. The boulder is a great motivation to get young people outdoors, doing something adventurous.  Milnsbridge Enhancement Group has done amazing things for the local community, from lighting up the centre at Christmas, to painting its railings and cleaning up the riverside path. This is just one of their many projects and it shows that community spirit is alive and well in Milnsbridge.”

Cllr Hilary Richards, who had the pleasure of cutting the ribbon said, “The Milnsbridge Enhancement Group is a fantastic example of what local people can do for their community. For a while we have been looking for something for young people to do and this is a brilliant asset to the area. I am proud to have supported it as the local councillor for the area and to have officially opened this excellent facility.”
