Savage cuts in funding (£180 Million) by central government to Kirklees council (which is one of the lowest spending councils in the country) are putting critical services, such as care for the elderly and child protection, at risk and of course further job cuts alongside closure of museums, libraries etc.

Young people, women (who use public services the most) and the elderly (putting pressure on NHS due to not being looked after in homes) are worst hit by this government's assault on services which are being cut to bare bones as the council tries to plug the huge gap in finances caused by the government.

Labour is determined to protect our public services from a government that gives the rich tax cuts of £9 Billion while cutting council funding by £11.3 Billion.

We are definitely not " this together."

Make your voice heard and send a message to the government by supporting your Labour councillors who will fight for your interests and our community and safeguard our vital services.
